We take care and develop what we have most precious in Slovakia: the natural landscape and human life in it in a sustainable way. From organic farming to reasonable development projects – our activities always connect human life with its natural environment.
About us
How to combine human life and the preservation of the natural character of the landscape? At Tatra Forest Slovakia, we want to protect the most beautiful things that we have in Slovakia – our Tatras, forests and nature. However, we are aware that human activity has always interfered with wild nature. That is why, since 2008, we have been focusing on projects that help people live a better life in harmony with the country in which they live. We have full support for this vision from our foreign capital from Great Britain.
Through our subsidiaries, we started a different kind of farming in Slovakia. Today, our agritourism section includes companies such as Farma Východná, Kone vo Východná, and BioTatry HB. From their production, we supply the Slovak and European markets with high-quality organic teas and cheeses, and we provide a unique connection with nature during horse-riding trips.
So that you can admire the beautiful panorama of the High Tatras not only from the saddle of a horse, we built Usadlost pod Kriváňom – the luxury of a 5-star hotel with nature right on your doorstep. This was the gateway to other development projects in which we create life for people who want to live in connection with nature and at the same time in quality and with the technologies of the 21st century.

Farma Východná
We invest capital in the farm, founded in 1958. Farma Východná focuses on the ecological management of 1,600 hectares of land, the breeding of dairy cows and young cattle, and the production of fodder for own consumption. As part of it, we also developed a startup in the field of production and sale of exclusive cheeses.

A company is established in Liptovský Mikuláš, which becomes the parent company. Strategically manages companies within the entire group, its startups, development projects and ensures the care of the group's assets.
Biotatry o.d., Liptovský Mikuláš
A company focused on the sale of raw milk for Slovak organic and conventional farmers on foreign markets and in Slovakia is being established.

BIOTATRY H&B, Východná
From Východná Farm we are separating a new company, which focuses on the organic cultivation of medicinal plants and small fruits on a total area of 42 hectares, as well as on the processing and sale of final products in the form of herbal teas.

We are separating from the parent company a separate company focused on the ownership, construction, management and rental of luxury cottages in Východná.

Agrotourism
We started to realize our dreams of real business development in the field of agriculture in 2008. For this purpose, we invested capital in Poľnohospodárske družstvo Východná, where it is currently implementing its farming plans.
In the new concept, we built new and modernized old stables at Východná Farm, renewed the machine park, changed the methods of tilling the land and introduced a new work organization. We produce high-quality organic cow’s and sheep’s milk on the newly established organic farm. In our own dairy, we produce high-quality cheeses for special occasions. Farma Východná is open to the public and thousands of visitors, especially children, have visited us for a real farm experience and an understanding of the healthy life of farm animals.
For an even closer and stronger experience of the closeness of animals and people, as well as the connection with Tatra and Liptov nature, we founded the Kone v Východná project. Adventure trips on horseback with views of the Liptovská Kotlina complement our agrotourism section. Horse owners can stable their horses here and trust that they are well taken care of.
In 2012, due to the suitable natural conditions in the basin under the Tatras, we started the trial cultivation of organic medicinal plants for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes. Today, we grow medicinal herbs and small fruits on more than 42 hectares, and we bring ecologically grown organic herbal teas to the market under the BIOTATRY H&B brand.
Since 2012, we have also been producing and selling biocompost. This bio-organic matter replaces classic fertilization and heals the soil. We produce biocompost from cow and sheep manure, green matter, hay, straw, unconsumed haylage, crushed branches and soil. This bio-organic matter not only supplies the plants with the necessary nutrients, but also heals the soil, suppresses fungi, molds and other pathogens in it. In addition to softening the soil and making it lighter and more productive, it ensures better absorption of moisture in rainy weather and its retention and release for the benefit of plants in the dry season.
Development
Our company is fully managed by Slovak management from Liptov and that is why we approach our development projects differently. We sensitively take into account the impact on the environment and do our best to ensure that each of our projects is sensitively and tastefully embedded in the surrounding landscape.
HYBE PEŇAŽNÉ
We built the infrastructure for 55 building plots for family houses. The project is sold out and its construction is underway (status summer 2023).
BENICE
We prepared the infrastructure for 23 building plots for family houses in the Liptovský Mikuláš - Benice district. All plots have been sold and the project is under construction (as of summer 2024).
HÁJIKY GALOVANY
Near Galovian, we are preparing a project to build a resort for people who are looking for a life in connection with nature. Almost 40 farm yards will complement 60 country houses, a farm house, a restaurant, sports fields and playgrounds (status summer 2023).
USADLOSŤ POD KRIVÁŇOM
A project of nine luxury cottages that offer fascinating and unique views in the meadows below the High Tatras. Two of them have already been approved, two are under construction and five are in the process of construction preparation (status summer 2023).
